About

The history of Tissue Sp. z o.o. dates back to the 1930s, when the German company established a pulp factory in Kostrzyn. However, this plant was almost completely destroyed during World War II. In the 1950s, its reconstruction began, and in the following years, the factory was gradually developed. In 1990, the Kostrzyn paper mill was transformed into a company of the State Treasury and then sold to the Swedish paper company TREBRUK AB. Since the Swedes produced copy paper, not tissue paper, which was made with different machines, a new company, Hanke Tissue, was formed, and half of its shares were sold to the German company Hanke Papier from Dortmund. Ultimately, Hanke Papier became the sole owner of Hanke Papier by repurchasing the remaining 50% of the shares in 1998. The ownership structure changed in 2006 when, in light of the financial problems of the then-owner, the German group MBB Industries AB purchased 100% of the shares in Hanke Tissue sp. z o.o.
