KNOLL Maschinenbau GmbH The family-owned company KNOLL supplies manufacturers and users of machine tools worldwide with conveyor systems, filtration systems, and pumps. All industries where machine tools are used for turning, milling, drilling, or grinding utilize KNOLL products — for example, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automotive manufacturing, as well as aerospace and energy technology. Another business area addresses complex logistics challenges with innovative assembly and transport systems. With over 1,000 employees, KNOLL is the largest company in the Upper Swabian town of Bad Saulgau. The foundation was laid by Walter Knoll in a 200 m² hall in 1970. Since 1974, the company has been steadily growing on its own premises. Initially, the built-up area was 900 m², and by 2015, it had already exceeded 54,000 m². Due to a high level of vertical integration, value creation remains within the company.
