For several months now, Montanstahl GmbH has been transforming the highly fragmented steel market with its neutral online portal #steel.online. The portal offers functionalities that provide many advantages compared to traditional search and quote requests via fax or email. It allows customers access to a wide range of products and creates sustainable market transparency. After just over a year, more than 1,000 steel traders and over 5,800 steel consumers have registered on #steel.online. The portal is available in German and English, with additional languages to follow shortly. On the B2B portal, steel consumers have the opportunity to create price inquiries for free and search for products. Steel traders can submit offers or list their products in the online inventory. The generic product configurators ensure error-free inquiries and facilitate selection with self-explanatory input forms, pre-set categories, geometries, and dimensions. The product range includes all steel semi-finished products from profile steel to round tubes, wire, and sheets, as well as coils. Additionally, a comprehensive industry or performance overview and services such as CEV or pipe calculators are offered.
