Innovation has been part of the "Rittal DNA" since its founding. In 1961, entrepreneur Rudolf Loh established Rudolf Loh Elektrogerätebau in Rittershausen. The purpose of the company: "Control cabinets available immediately from stock." In the founding year, the world's first series-produced control cabinet was launched. In 1969, the company was renamed Rittal – reflecting its roots in Rittershausen in the Dietzhölztal. A few years later, Rittal control cabinets became the global standard – and they remain so to this day.
