Since Günther Früchtl founded the company in 1972 in the proverbial garage, it has developed under the STAINLESS Group into a nationally and internationally respected and highly specialized dealer for stainless steel. From the very beginning, Früchtl established itself as a specialist for stainless steel in Germany and has become a competent and experienced partner for solution-oriented applications. After its founding, the company's purpose quickly evolved towards stainless steel sheets and semi-finished products. The expertise necessary for the sales orientation was brought in 1975 by Heinrich Breuning. Later, two more influential figures joined: Heinz Hartmann and the long-time later managing director Dagmar Zenner. However, the management quickly recognized that there was no chance of competing with the large and established players in the market with standard offerings in the stainless steel sector. Thus, specialization and consulting became our creed early on. This was also recognized by a neighboring world market leader in pneumatics, who, while seeking standard dimensions for the piston rods in its products in terms of length and diameter, demanded the highest quality standards regarding surface quality, which significantly exceeded market norms. Because Früchtl can deliver this exceptional quality, the early 1980s marked the beginning of a deep collaboration that continues to this day. The associated stable growth can be humorously characterized by the words: If there is a 'Pfftt' sound somewhere, Früchtl is most likely involved. The specialization was further advanced in 1989, right after the reunification. Through early contacts with a combine and several smaller companies that manufacture medical products, Früchtl supplied the required stainless steels. Later, when Boschgotthardshütte (BGH) took over the combine from the Treuhand, we were able to supply the entire medical market through them. At that time, a focus on the medical technology sector began, which today accounts for about half of our current annual revenue of approximately 12 million euros.
