About

The company was founded by Willy A. Bachofen in 1933. With great skill, he guided the craft and trading business through the difficult times during and after World War II and developed it into an industrial enterprise. In the 1960s, he and his team successfully introduced two innovations worldwide: first, the TURBULA®, the three-dimensional shaker mixer, and then the DYNO®-MILL, the first agitator bead mill with a closed, horizontally arranged grinding chamber. Willy A. Bachofen used the occasion of the company's 65th anniversary in 1998 to implement his strategy for the long-term security of the company, to maintain independence, and to ensure future job preservation: a corporate foundation transfers shares to deserving and long-serving employees of the parent company, Willy A. Bachofen AG, for their benefit. These employees hold the rights and obligations of a regular shareholder during their employment. Upon leaving, they return the shares to the corporate foundation. Willy A. Bachofen passed away on April 28, 2000, at the age of 89 in Basel. His unwavering business ethics and entrepreneurial sense of responsibility continue to guide all of the company's activities.
