  • Finishing — deburring, graining, powder coating, anodising or plating. Usually outsourced even by large fabricators, which adds a handover and a week.

  • Operations in-house — every step a shop buys in adds days and a margin. Ask which of cutting, bending, welding and finishing happen under their own roof.
