Volumetric
Meters a measured volume per cycle, using a piston, a rotary or gear pump, or a timed flow. Foam, viscosity and the legal side of fill accuracy
Two things decide whether a filling line works, and neither is usually in the first enquiry. The first is foam. A product that foams will read as full when it is not, so it must be filled slowly, through a diving nozzle that stays below the surface, or by weight rather than volume — and that choice changes the machine, not just a setting. Say whether your product foams; if you do not know, say that too, and ask for a trial fill. Viscosity behaves similarly: many products are shear-thinning, so a viscosity quoted at rest tells a builder little about how it moves through a nozzle. Give the viscosity at filling temperature and name the product. The second is that fill accuracy is a legal matter, not just a quality one. Prepackaged goods sold in the EU by nominal quantity fall under the average quantity system, with defined tolerable negative errors and a requirement that the average not fall below the nominal — which is why lines routinely give away product to stay compliant.
